# Maybloc add-ons: redaction, summaries, sentiment and translation

> Ten add-ons you switch on per request: PII redaction, smart formatting, subtitles, insights, speaker names, sentiment, topics, key terms, custom fields and translation. Prices per minute.

Add-ons are made from the transcript. Switch them on with `config.addons` when you create a transcript, or add them later to a completed transcript without transcribing it again.

## Which add-ons are there and what do they cost?

| Add-on | Name | What it does | Price per minute |
| - | - | - | - |
| `redact_pii` | PII redaction | Names, phone numbers, emails, addresses, card and account numbers and other personal details replaced with typed tags such as \[PERSON\_NAME], in the text and every export, with the times they were said. | \$0.0005 |
| `smart_format` | Smart formatting | Punctuation and capitals added, hesitations and stutters removed, every word kept on its timing. Applies to the transcript and every export. | \$0.0005 |
| `subtitles` | Subtitles | Broadcast-style captions: punctuated sentences, at most two lines and 7 seconds, on screen long enough to read, with crosstalk shown as two speakers. SRT and WebVTT. | Free |
| `insights` | Insights | A summary, chapters, key points, action items and decisions with who owns them, and highlights worth clipping. | \$0.001 |
| `identify_speakers` | Speaker names | Speakers named from the conversation itself, when someone is addressed or introduced by name or states their role. | \$0.0005 |
| `sentiment` | Sentiment | The tone overall and per speaker, with the moments where it is strongest or shifts. | \$0.0005 |
| `topics` | Topics and entities | What the conversation is about, and every person, company, place, product, date and amount named, with where. | \$0.0005 |
| `keywords` | Key terms | The terms each conversation keeps coming back to, ranked, with where they were said. | \$0.0005 |
| `custom_fields` | Custom fields | Your own questions answered from every recording, each in the type you choose: text, number, yes or no, a list, a speaker or one of your options. | \$0.0005 |
| `translation` | Translation | The transcript and subtitles in up to 5 other languages, line by line in sync with the audio. | \$0.0015 per language |

Prices are per minute of audio, on top of the model price. Translation is charged per language.

## How do I switch add-ons on?

Send `config` with `POST /transcripts`:

```json theme={null}
{
  "upload_id": "…",
  "duration_ms": 155000,
  "config": {
    "model": "calico-1-flash",
    "language": "en",
    "addons": ["smart_format", "insights", "translation"],
    "translate_to": ["es"]
  }
}
```

`translation` needs `translate_to`, 1 to 5 language codes. `custom_fields` needs `config.custom_fields`, 1 to 20 questions, each with a `key`, a `question` and a `type` (`text`, `number`, `boolean`, `list`, `speaker` or `choice`).

## How do I add add-ons to a finished transcript?

Call `POST /transcripts/{id}/addons` with `addons` and, if needed, `translate_to` or `custom_fields`. The difference in per-minute price is charged for the recording's length.

## When are the results ready?

Most add-ons are generated shortly after the transcript. Each has a `status` in the result: `pending` while it is being made, `ready` when done, and `failed` if it could not be generated, in which case it is refunded. The `transcript.addons.completed` [webhook](https://docs.maybloc.com/guides/webhooks.md) fires when they are ready. Subtitles and key terms are available with the transcript.

## What does redact\_pii do to the transcript?

With `redact_pii` the transcript stays `processing` and the result returns `409` until personal details have been looked for, so nothing unredacted is served. Redacted text uses typed tags such as `[PERSON_NAME]` and `[EMAIL]`. The result lists the number of redactions, their types, and audio ranges you can bleep.

## How do speaker names appear in generated text?

Generated text refers to speakers as `{{speaker_1}}`. Replace each placeholder with the name in `speaker_names` before you show it.
