# Export a Maybloc transcript as SRT, WebVTT or text

> Download a transcript as an SRT or WebVTT subtitle file or as plain text, with speaker names. The subtitles add-on cuts caption-sized cues.

## How do I download subtitles?

Call `GET /transcripts/{id}/export?format=srt`. The `format` is `srt` (the default), `vtt` or `txt`.

Speaker names set with `PATCH /transcripts/{id}` are applied to the file. The transcript must be `completed`, otherwise the request returns `409`.

## What is the difference with the subtitles add-on?

Without the add-on, each speaker turn becomes one cue. With the `subtitles` add-on (free), the file is cut into caption-sized cues: punctuated sentences, at most two lines of 42 characters, on screen between 5/6 of a second and 7 seconds, at a readable speed, with crosstalk shown as two speakers. The structured cues are also in the result under `addons.subtitles`.

## What does an export contain when PII is redacted?

With `redact_pii` on, the exported text is redacted too.
